Happy Sunday,
Here’s a quick roundup of last week’s news :
Chart of the week 📈
In the year of sellers focusing on profitability, organic rank and lower bidding costs are the name of the game. A key measure that’s part of Amazon’s core SEO algorithm and helps optimize traffic are ‘backend search terms’ of a listing. A seller has 250 bytes to use, neither over-utilization nor under-utilization are in their favor. An Autopilot analysis across thousands of sellers for Amazon.com shows the magnitude of uplift potential.

Amazon has announced that it will reopen enrollment for the Seller Fulfilled Prime program (SFP) later this year. SFP was launched in 2015 to allow sellers to handle their own fulfillment while making their products available to Prime customers with fast, free delivery. The program was paused due to quality concerns but is now set to reopen. However, some sellers have expressed reservations about reenrolling, citing issues with stringent delivery requirements and metrics that were difficult to maintain. Others believe the program could benefit from certifying the logistics services used by merchants, rather than the merchants themselves. JungleScout has stated that SFP is ideally suited for experienced Amazon sellers who sell high volumes through Fulfilled by Merchant (FBM)1.
Amazon is implementing 25 new required product attributes spanning 52 product types for new product listings starting from July 5, 2023. These new attributes aim to make it easier for customers to search for product information and make informed purchase decisions. Existing active listings will not require this attribute information. In addition, Amazon's Inventory overview page will be integrated into the FBA dashboard from June 19, 2023. Lastly, the maximum reimbursement amount for US orders fulfilled by Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF) will be capped at $300 per eligible unit lost or damaged during the fulfillment process from July 15, 2023. Sellers with items valued over $300 are advised to get third-party insurance2.
