Amazon's Q4 2021 results were a mixed bag. AWS and the returns from the Rivian IPO aside, it's North America and International business posted an operating loss. Digging into the numbers yet reveals decent growth for third party sellers (+12% in Q4 YoY) and notably advertising spend was up significantly (+ 33% YoY) - which stands in contrast to Meta's advertising-led revenue tank.
